What happens when the city itself becomes a stage? On September 19, Innsbruck transforms into a trail of musical discoveries: starting at 11 a.m., 30-minute mini-concerts will take place at seven locations every hour on the hour. The carefully selected locations form a route through the city center, inviting visitors to follow the concerts from station to station or to stumble upon a musical event quite spontaneously.
The audience can visit all stations in succession; all events are free and open to the public. The program stands for musical diversity and encounters with contemporary music in all its forms. The spectrum is as multifaceted as the city itself: in one location, Florentin Ginot and Germain Zambi let the deep tones of the double bass meet the physical rebellion of Krump; elsewhere, Ensemble konsTellation plus and Windkraft bring the dense structures of Julia Wolfe and David Lang straight into the street, flanked by the electric force of a solo guitar and the powerful presence of brass bands.
STADT.KLANG.SPUREN does not see itself as a traditional concert format, but rather as an open musical experience in urban space. Here, the concert is not a closed-off venue, but a situation one stumbles into — while passing by, while lingering, out of curiosity or by chance.
