The Klangspuren Creators Lab is part of the Klangspuren Future Lab Academy, an interdisciplinary platform for artistic excellence, experimentation and innovation.
Designed for international and local postgraduate students, PhD candidates and emerging professionals, the Creators Lab supports artists working across music, choreography, theatre and architecture who seek to develop performance-based projects at the intersection of concept and realization.
About the Lab
Over the course of one intensive week, up to eight selected participants will refine and expand their own artistic ideas through mentoring, critical exchange, workshops and collaborative formats. The program focuses on iterative development processes and interdisciplinary dialogue, offering a space for unfinished, ambitious or experimental concepts. The week concludes with a collective sharing session. The emphasis of the Creators Lab lies on process, exchange and experimentation rather than on the presentation of completed works.
The Creators Lab is led by Juliet Fraser and Marlene Schleicher. Participants will additionally engage with internationally renowned artists and practitioners, including composers Liza Lim and Georges Aperghis, choreographer Edivaldo Ernesto, and architects Kristine Schinegger and Stefan Rutzinger.
A central element of the Creators Lab is active participation in the full program. In addition to developing their own projects, participants are expected to attend all mandatory sessions, including workshops, feedback rounds, site-related working sessions and choreography/movement sessions.
A limited number of scholarships ensure accessibility for applicants meeting the program requirements. Klangspuren explicitly encourages applications from artists of diverse cultural, aesthetic and disciplinary backgrounds.
Applications must be submitted by June 25, 8 pm CEST
Applicants will be notified of the decision by July 10
